As part of the 2019 series of Ecclesiastical meetings due to be held throughout Ireland, His Grace, Archbishop Diarmuid Martin is hosting the Dublin Provincial Area Meeting on Thursday 24th October 2019 assisted by the National Office for Safeguarding Children in the Catholic Church in Ireland.

The purpose of the event is for staff from the National Office to meet with Bishops, Provincials, Superiors and designated liaison people (DLP) from dioceses, religious congregations and orders across the Dublin ecclesiastical province area, to discuss common issues of interest to further develop best practice in relation to safeguarding children.

Topics for discussion include:

Current projects underway in the National Board
Revision of guidance and requirements following Vos estis lux mundi (Child safeguarding only)
Legal mechanisms for information sharing with the National Board
Training and Support Strategy, training requirements and revision of the training manual
International missionary practice
Safeguarding Sundays
