The National Board will host an event which seeks to explore what safer, healthier Christian cultures look like in the Irish church.  We’ll be discussing what safer healthier cultures look like, why it’s important, and how we create them.

With experienced facilitators, time for discussion and networking, plus lots of practical tools to support you in creating safer healthier cultures where you are, this event is a must for those in leadership or positions of influence with a heart and passion for creating safer environments for all.

No amount of good safeguarding policy, procedures and training will fully embed safer practice, if the culture and support systems are not fit for purpose. With increasing attention on high-profile cases of abuse and safeguarding failings within the Church and wider society, in Ireland, Northern Ireland and globally, the need to fulfil God’s call for the church to be a community that cares for the vulnerable and speaks out against injustice in all its forms has never been more important.  Creating safer, healthier cultures is where we need to start.

What will be covered:

  • The Biblical imperative
  • The importance of culture and systems
  • What safer, healthier cultures look like
  • The challenges to creating safer, healthier cultures
  • Next steps

The event will be facilitated by Justin Humphreys and Leigh McFarlane of Thirty-one:eight.  For information on what will be discussed please follow this link https://thirtyoneeight.org/culturecube.
