This training course is only for those wishing to become registered as trainers for three years with the NBSCCCI. The training will be delivered over 6 days in the Shearwater Hotel, Marina Point, Dunlo, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway, H53 F5P9.
- 12 November: context, group work skills and facilitation skills.
- 15 & 16 November: delivering the safeguarding children programme.
- 26 November: context, group work skills and facilitation skills.
- 29 & 30 November: assessment of each trainer by a tutor from the NBSCCCI and their peers. The criteria for assessment which will be used during this session can be accessed here.
- Additional Date- Final assessment of the trainer by a tutor registered with the NBSCCCI at a date a time that suits the trainer.
- Each applicant must attend all days to complete the course.
Price for this course excludes accommodation and is priced at 950 euro per person. Full price to be paid on completion of the course.

3. Each applicant must print out and complete this registration form (this includes a section to be completed by their Church Authority). His Grace, Archbishop Dermot Farrell is hosting an Ecclesiastical Provincial Area Meeting on the 10th of November 2025 assisted by the NBSCCCI, Towards Peace and Towards Healing.
The purpose of the event is for staff from the National Office to meet with bishops, provincials, superiors and safeguarding personnel from dioceses, religious congregations and orders across the Cashel and Emly ecclesiastical province area, to discuss common issues of interest, and to consider how further improvements in safeguarding practice can be made.
A letter of invitation has been sent to Church authorities (both diocesan and male and female religious) in the ecclesiastical area.

Reporting allegations and disclosures of child abuse to An Garda Síochána.
During July and August 2025, the NBSCCCI, in collaboration with the Garda National Protective Services Bureau, created a standardised form to be used when reporting allegations and disclosures of child abuse to An Garda Síochána. The form was/is used by all Church bodies to capture and report all relevant information. A collective aim is that this reporting form will serve as a useful resource when making such reports.
The NBSCCCI requested that all Church bodies begin to use the form from the 5th of August 2025.
We now invite all relevant Church bodies to join us for a Zoom meeting on Wednesday, 22nd October at 12 pm to share feedback on the functionality of this new template. The call should take 45 minutes to one hour.
