This training course is only for those wishing to become registered as trainers for three years with the NBSCCCI. The training will be delivered over 6 days in the Glenroyal Hotel, Maynooth, County Kildare and structured as follows:
- 02/04/2022 and 03/04/2022 (both days starting at 10:00 and finishing at 16:30)- context, group work skills and facilitation skills.
- 22/04/2022, 23/04/2022 and 24/04/2022 (each day starting at 10:00 and finishing at 16:00)- delivering the safeguarding children programme.
- 21/05/2022 (9:30 until 16:00)- assessment of each trainer by a tutor from the NBSCCCI and their peers. The criteria for assessment which will be used during this session can be accessed here.
- Additional Date- Final assessment of the trainer by a tutor registered with the NBSCCCI at a date a time that suits the trainer. The criteria for assessment which will be used during the community assessment can be accessed here.
- Each applicant must attend all days to complete the course.
Price for this course excludes accommodation and is priced at 1250 euro per person.

1. You must be appointed and approved to take part in this course by the Church authority of your Church body .

3. Each applicant must print out and complete this registration form (this includes a section to be completed by their Church Authority). This should be emailed as soon as possible but no later than the 2nd April 2022 to acunningham@safeguarding.ie or posted in hardcopy to Niall Moore, Director of Training and Support, National Board for Safeguarding Children in the Catholic Church in Ireland, New House, Maynooth, County Kildare.

The National Board will host a short session with Bernard Gloster, the Chief Executive Officer of Tusla. The purpose of this session is to enable you to clarify any matters relating to the operation of Tusla and its engagment with Church bodies across the Republic of Ireland.
This event is open to Church authorities or those safeguarding personnel involved in engaging directly with Tusla. To help structure this meeting we would appreciate it if you could forward any questions or issues you would like addressed to imeldaashe@safeguarding.ie by the 1st of March 2022.

At the request of a number of Church authorities, this training day has been organised specifically for leaders of Church bodies across Ireland to induct them into their strategic role in relation to child safegaurding.
This training was previously faciliated in January 2021.
The day will cover a range of topics relating to safeguarding including:
- The strategic role of the Church authority in relation to safeguarding.
- Pastoral ministry and safeguarding.
Please note if you have already attended this training previously you do not need to attend again.
Once you have registered we will provide you with the relevant web log in instructions at least a week before the event.
